I was playing the mod for a while when something hit me. If we're only going to have Moscow playable, then why don't we just call it Russia? I know its not that accurate, but if Novograd and the other Russian powers are just indys, then whats the point of just calling it Moscow?

Kiev is also playable

We have dynamic country names, don't we? Kiev Rus can be called "Ruthenia" in a later age, while Moscow Rus can be called "Russia". :)

Ruthenia?

You are right. But Duke of Awesome made a mistake. Kiev doesn't represent Ukraine, but the Kievan Rus. That is the same civ as you mentioned in your post.

Hmmm. Ukrainians might disagree. AFAIK Ukraine claims the so-called Kiev Rus as its predecessor, just as Russia does. And as usual both claims have some pros and cons... :dunno:

Just cause they were actually a semi-nomad state at their early years, and when the later years came Mongols came as well ;)
