A really stupid question, but...

In the Foreign Advisor's screen, you can only see eight rivals at a time...
Um...and I've met atleast 12, and I don't know how to contact them and look at their war/peace status.

Click on a leader besides yourself then selct more civs and choose the one you want.

In Conquests (I think) there is a button in the top right hand corner of the Foreign Advisor screen that says 'More Civs'. Just click a civ other than yourself, click more civs, then select which civ you want to take the original one's spot.

I know how to select more at a time, it's just that I have made contact with 8+ civs, and if I want to contact a civ or see their status I double-click on their icon.
But since there are only 8 icons, some are left out.
I don't have conquests

You right click on a leaderhead, and a list will appear with the civs that aren't visible. Just select from there. (Or was it shift+right click)
