    Welcome :)

You are Ruler of a proud native american tribe.
Your home city, Cahokia, was a shining place full of life and busy (but happy) people.
    Spoiler :

    Over night, things changed.
Earthquakes struck the lands, buildings fell and now there's not much left of your former glory. Lucky for you, some settlers survived and you can make a new start.
    Spoiler :

Your old friend, Gandhi, was a bit more lucky and gathered more survivors from his city ruins. One of your peaceful scouts visited the great City of Delhi before chaos struck.
Maybe he can help you keeping some contact.
Gandhi is wise and already knows how to write books, while you are more skilled in Hunting.

Your very skilled medicine man was on a trip in the Saharas, and you hope he can come home. His healing would be oh so useful in these times.
Another scout was hunting deer in the woods, you are uncertain about his well being.

Confused, you look around..where's my wolf pet?
Suddenly you hear a booming voice:
"I have captured your pitiful wolf. Surrender, or i will slay not only him but everyone of you. This land..it's mine now!"
    Spoiler :

    What was that..am i dreaming?
    At night, you are indeed.
You dream of black hordes devastating your lands, and you hear the heart breaking howls of your wolf.

Waking up shivering, you think: Gandhi is far away, can he help us?
Or are we alone in the dark?
Your fight for survival begins - Now
    Spoiler :

Seems a great challenge! I would play it but I HATE barbs (yet for some strange reason leave them turned on) so I fear I would experience a lot of bad feelings playing this round...

I am really looking forward to this one. Sadly (not really), I am going on vacation and will have limited access to civilization (both real one and the game). Anyway, Kudos Fippy on keeping the community alive. :goodjob:

    Wow, deity raging barbs!

What's the ultimate goal? Just win the game or something else?

For tgw, look at one of the screenies ;)

I did not really think that far (goals) Izuul, just a bit of roleplay added.
I guess you can betray your friend and win the game :D

Or capturing Ice Fortress could be your goal, that would silence those barbs and we could consider the scenario won.

    Spoiler :
Barbs seem to be leaving me alone for some reason. I went for the WB first since it was less likely to be pillaged early and then worker after that while teching Mining > BW. Got worker on T16, improved ivory for the hammers and because it seemed to be in an easier place to defend. After ivory i chopped a Dog. My Woody III warrior was patrolling around the northern parts of my border while waiting for the Dogs to come out. I have 2 now, an archer on the way, barracks in the cap, and most of my tiles improved. No fighting around the city yet. There's a little stack of 2 barb spears and a barb warrior that I'm keeping my eyes on now, but it seems to be marching west right past me.

Yeah Gandhi did seem to be catching hell over there. I have a scout in Delhi.

I might restart, I want the full experience. :)

Wish i could re-create that bug.
Did couple more test runs, but was all normal.

For those not reading Izu's spoiler, if all Barbs are ignoring you and none rush into your bfc by turn ~15 (at latest i think), you should start new.

They are then all rushing Gandhi, for reasons i cannot find out.
I changed something when creating the map cos i saw it happen 1x (then about 10 fine runs), and thought it's fixed.

Well i survived. Haven't quite finished yet, but I don't see how i could lose at this point.

    Killed: 70 warriors, 58 archers, 22 spears, 12 axes, 1 wolf
Lost: 1 galley, 1 scout, 1 dog soldier, 1 wolf

Not sure how I've only lost 1 real unit. Pretty lucky i guess.

    Spoiler :
When i replayed the game i went Archery first then Mining > BW. Built a few archers and then mostly dog soldiers. I just turtled in the city until i had a good many units stockpiled and then i moved out with 3-4 dogs and the woody III warrior for a medic. I started getting my dogs set up on key forested hills to set up a perimeter around the city and keep the fighting out there. Once i got that working everything was pretty normal.

I've got 4 cities now and i just got Construction and HBR from Gandhi. I'm gonna build some elepults and then smash the ice fortress right on top of the bastard that killed my wolf.

    Well done :)
Your post made me smile, esp the stuff with wolves.

    In what shape is Gandhi?
I was unsure just how difficult i can make the game, and thought it's better not going too far so more peoples can join.

If you want a super hard raging barbs map with a new story, let me know and we can try that ;)

edit: or maybe something else, not barbs but some other kind of story.
    and ty BiC :)

ha ha..figured you did ;) ..but didn't want to derail this good thread

I did try once with a more standard approach like Iz's but did not have his luck with barbs.

    TGW to the barbs..sacrilege!

I wondered a bit, would building tgw be an option anyways?
Imo it's very possible that Gandhi would be faster, you need several units first and then you would have to defend a worker for chopping or gather 150 hammers without..hmm :)
