* chose aztecs
* set science to 0 (and try not to chance it during the whole game)
* make a j. warrior
* make a barrack
* find a civ, get pottery
* if the barrack isn't ready, change it to granary.
* make sure there is enough shield for a fast production. ie, granary in 30 turns. otherwise start a new game.
* make a settler.
* make a barrack in the capitol city and in the second city.
* start making j. warriors than.
* never change the j. warrior production no matter what.
* place the j. warriors to enemy borders so that they can attack the cities in one move.
* once you have 18 j.warriors (6 for each city) conquer all 3 cities in one turn. if you can't, reload the game and try again.
* offer peace in the same turn, you'll get all their tech and money.
* during negotiations, always watch the advisor (top right of screen)
* in the new cities, make temples (and libraries) by hurrying production.
* in the capitol city and in the 2nd city, try not to make any improvement or a unit other than j. warrior.
* never make any wonders. if you have a leader, make a forbidden place first.
* a few turns later, when you have enough j. warriors, do the same thing. conquer cities and offer peace.
* continue this until you conquer the whole continent.
* you may have some battles going on for a few turns, especially if the enemy city is in the middle of the forest. offer peace after you have their cities, they may reject a few times but at the end they'll give everyhing they have)
* once you have the continent, change your whole strategy. first shift to monarchy or republic. keep the number of units in minimum, zero if possible.
* be careful though, they may attack if you are weak.
* try to keep good relations with overseas. give free maps, a few gold etc. make every effort to avoid war.
* you may have financial and technological problems during this time. sell a city (2-3 size/in the middle region) to a low culture civ, if necessary. you'll get lots of tech and some money. you'll than have it again by your culture, don't worry.
* make sure you have an harbor so that you can trade resources and luxuries.
* try to keep your luxury level as high as possible.
* once you save enough money, buy tech. especially new ones so that you can sell to others. (you can even make money by buying /saling tech., while your science is zero.)
* once you have the s. fibers, make as many modern armor as you can, and a few transports. you don't need any planes or battleships.
* make a ROP with the overseas civilization(s), and place 6-8 tanks per enemy city.
* after 20 turns, tell them you want to end up the ROP, take thier cities and offer peace at the same turn.
* wait for culturel or domination victory in 19th century.

(I made 5000 points with that game, and another 13.000 points in a tiny world)

There is one small problem with your strategy.

You can do it, becuse I can do it. 6 is enough generally, but you may try 7.
The first city to attack is another factor, change the combinations by reloading.
Good luck.

Well Reloading is Cheating. And it's not fun and it's not allowed in e.g. the GOTM.

While I don't want to be too critical, it sounds like this is a pre-1.16f strategy designed to use massive exploits in the game to win. While a warrior/jaguar rush can be very effective, it's also quite risky, and if you fail, you have essentially lost the game if playing on a hard difficulty. You seem to understand this because you suggest reloading if it doesn't work... :(

Selling your city to someone else? That was taken out in the 1.07 patch because it was such an exploit. While you certainly can use ROP rape to win the game, it's really not what the game is designed for, and blatantly unfair to an AI that can't see something like that coming.

Now I don't want to sound too preachy here, and you can certainly play the game however you like it best. But I would rather a newbie player not read this thread and think this is a viable strategy for the game; it's not, it's a way to exploit flaws in the game (many of which the programmers have already removed in patches) to get a high score. I don't really see the fun in playing this way... :confused:

I aggre with you; reloading, war in a ROP is not fun, but with this strategy you can win without reloading and without a ROP
(only if you are an advanced player.)
Remember also that there are 15.000+ members in this community in different levels, and I believe some of them plays without patches, some of them like reloading...
Regards.
