I did get tanks versus longbows on Immortal, only once. I had Sury vs Sitting Bull, I was semi isolated with him and when we discovered the rest of the world, he refused to trade with them and fell massively behind. I think I have a screenshot somewhere on another computer of one of his defensive longbows killing one of my tanks.
