a utility for copy&pasting parts of files?

Does anyone know of a program which can look for text content in one file and replace just that portion of text with a portion of text from another file?

I've G6 Utilities, but that can only do this with whole files.

Can't you make a backup of the second file, then edit it so that it only contains the portion you want to copy. Then you use the program of yours.

Just get a hex editor. Hextreme is adequate.

You can use sed or awk, GNU programs that have been ported to windows. Let me try to find a link for you.
