Looks like I need to register on that site to see more. He's at least getting us some really good exposure out there.

You have to pay to register on those forums.
This means exposure will be MUCH smaller than you thought, as outsiders cant view those forums.
Or at least this thread.

He should survive till end as hes playing on Large Earth space map.

I think it's because the google crawler hasn't updated the caches yet, give it a few more days.

Still hiding lets plays behind paywall is somewhat awful decision - they could make it viewable by outsiders

I'm not sure if they open themselves once in blue moon or what.
Also I don't know how long they allow that.
They enjoy our mod with all little quirks and funny things in it

If web crawler was any indication then it seems its third week every month or so.

@Dancing Hoskuld @pepper2000 their reactions on early buildings obsoleting in late game (or never obsoleting like those toy bead pottery producers) is amusing

They don't yet know that Library - Classical era building - is in long dependency chain ending with something like Materializer - Transcendent era building.

Also they liked what we did on very end of our tech tree.
Simulation Awareness - civilization now knows it exists only as simulation.
Simulation Analysis - civilization is actively trying to get out of simulation.

Kation's and Snofru's (he made generated Earth part) space map should be compact enough to be playable till end.
Their Earth is smaller than Large size (Large with 7776 tiles default and 6820 Earth tiles on those space maps).

 

I had a long chat with the poster on this last night. Interesting discussion.

He didn't come out and say it but I'm pretty sure that this site is dedicated to posting about BAD games and other media in particular. In a sense, being featured on there is probably NOT something to be proud of. But at least it's getting us some good exposure and he's pretty cool in general.

 

This website seems to be generally naughty, but not too naughty - Chaotic Neutral if you will.
CivFanatics would be True Neutral.

From what I looked around Lets Plays some games are good like Cities Skylines, so I guess all sorts of game lets plays are posted here.

 

They do seem to at least have a particularly keen focus on criticism though.

That said I think we're faring fairly well. The primary criticism on the mod is volume and some of the oddly specific peculiarities we have.

 

C2C is good in an awful kinda way. ^^

Interesting to see some reactions. Obviously C2C isn't for everyone, but I think we have a good niche, and I can't think of anything else that compares for sheer level of immersion.

 

I got that impression also, from some of the posters about his play through.

But despite that, so far - it is a very good explanation of how the mod works.

 

I guess some of you aren't used to those type of websites - some posters will find flaws even in 10/10 game.
Also if you play mod for decade, then you just gloss over minor quirks and inconsistencies.

I see some good reviews and some mixed reviews too.
I think their criticism of V37.5 or V38.1 would be be worse.

Also you aren't used to mixed reviews, as those and those are stellar.

 

You know, I'm cool with it, but it does feel a bit like being an overweight girl invited to a party because she's pretty only to find out that all they guys there brought overweight girls to display what they could find.

 

Now I wonder what are youtube/discord comments on C2C lets plays.

Likely some comments could feel like this too.

 

I think complaints about early game are here, because some players want action as soon as possible.
Also they likely picked too long game speed or too low handicap.
They could pick 50% more civs than default and Barbarian World or whatever option places one barbarian city per player.

Someone else was complaining about Industrial/Atomic game play - those parts aren't fully fleshed, also slavery is killer at this stage as you can't build most of Industrial and later era resource producers.
Now if you pick Emperor or Immortal then AI still should be good in Industrial and later eras as long as they build Emancipation Proclamation.
