A video player for many formats?

I had VLC but it didn't work that well for osme reason, and would stop playing the vid of I tried to move the sldier along to a specific point in the vid. What is another good video player that can play a lot of formats?
 
If you're on Windows, Media Player Classic can play pretty much everything.
 
I too have had problems with VLC, but in my experience it was something wrong with the actual video and not the player.
 
WMP11 works just fine for me, along with Quicktime alternative and PowerDVD for DVD's.

I tried VLC, but its video quality is just horrid.
 
I don't think VLC is all that bad looking..
My favorite thing about it is the ability to easily take screenshots.

That is the problem of the video,maybe the producer of the video added such "limit"?

I recommend MPC with some good codec pack too,the pack mentioned by Chukchi Husky is good too.

It ALWAYS does that. With vids from the internet, ripped off youtube (and converted), etc.
