Currently I am not taking requests for this time period nor am I planning on doing many at the moment. I will occasional add ships as they peak my interest.

As I was saying, it's indeed a great unit with awesome animations! I especially like the run anim, with the wave effect. The only downside is the 1-frame default, I would have loved to see another wave animation there. Also, perhaps the palette could use a higher contrast ?

Definitely a superb unit.

wow, what a Beauty out of the blue... wish there would be many more of the modern stuff (Daring, Sachsen, FREMM etc)

 

The Halifax-class frigate is a Canadian vessel, but can it be a placeholder for..... ? Any suggestions? Look-a-likes?

That said, I actually have ready use for the Halifax.

 

Is it just me or did ships and cars start looking allot less "cool" after the early 70s or so? It seems like by the mid to late 70s gone were the towering superstructures and radar masts, protruding gun turrets, etc. that made naval vessels the interesting pieces of hardware that they are. I realize the necessity of modern designs it's just that in my mind they lack the "charm" that their predecessors did. Most modern designs have all the attraction of a 1980s Ford Mustang.

That all said I am in no way insulting Delta's latest work, it's as awesome as ever.

 

I'd say most ships built from the 60s to the 90s look boring indeed. The newer ones, however...

They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, perhaps I'm just a helpless traditionalist.

 

Beauty is indeed a subjective thing: personally I've always thought some of the 1960s and 1970s warships to be very beautiful ships indeed,
especially the large missile destroyers of those eras such as the French Suffren class:



and the British County class:

 

And the Halifax frigate looks awesome in-game!

 

Wolfhart, you won't hear any disagreements from me. I've always thought that naval vessels of the 50s and 60s were for the most post some really good looking designs, especially allot of the missile conversions of WWII era ships, they had a sort of Frankenstein-ish appeal to them. Whereas by the late 70s ships like the Spruance class had the aesthetic appeal, at least in my mind, of a cardboard box.

 

Both the Iowa and Halifax are cool looking. Keep up the good work!
