Hi all,
There's so little snow here this winter, and I wanted a landscape full of snow and snowmen....
Time to dust off the old modding skills...

Time to dust off the old modding skills...
This mod (v2) consists of two parts:
- Snowy landscape (plains, desert, marsh, grass tiles are white of snow)
- Frosty The Snowman improvement for everyone. +1 Food with Agriculture, +1 Culture with Printing Press
Creation:
- Used the The North Pole mod (on Steam) by calcul8ors. Edit XML files and a little texture artwork. Graphic model converted from Civ IV by DJSHenninger, originally created by saibotlieh.
- Followed this thread: Exported PAK files using Nexus, Exported DDS using Dragon UnPACKer. Copied DDS terrain files into my mod. Overwrite all terrain DDS files with the ice terrain file. And set all VFS=True
- Compiled and built using ModBuddy - see https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...-modding-civilization-5.493900/#post-12379088
Notes:
- It's only the base terrain that is white, not the trees or jungle parts. Future art work could add lights and Christmas trees to the landscape...
- The Mod is compatible with the North Pole mod, with the two snow men improvements. Though, I could never figure out how to have unique texture files for the two. Renaming everything caused the rendering to be blank.
- Playing wit both the North Pole Mod and this - edit xml file to enable Elf's to build Frosty the Snowman.
Now time to go play in the snow....
