We're approaching 48 hours, sayeth Sir Latey-Late. Any turns, pigs?

I would settle to get all 3 and the fish, just for an nice uber-commerce city.

Another fairly long (but extremely dull set). Played up to 975bc to get sailing done.

At the start of the set the economy was running (barely) at 20% research. By the end of the set with sailing in and two goldmines connected we're breaking even at 50% research.

Biggest :smoke: was trying to build a farm without knowing we didn't know agriculture . No doubt lots of other sub-optimal moves I didn't notice.

1450bc. Barb warrior suicides on archer.

1425. Hinduism spreads to Hasting for some culture.

    1350. York Archer>Worker.

    1325. Judaism fidl (actually Guangzhou).

1300. London worker>rax (can't afford more units atm).

    1275 Judaism spreads to Nottingham.

    1225 Judaism spreads to London.

    1175 Nottingham worker>rax.

1100 Qin builds Oracle (probably took MC as Confu not founded).

    975bc Sailing>Agric(?).

Told you it was a dull set.

Note that Brennus has pinched Nottingham's fish. WB nearby hoping that Victorian culture will eventually prevail.

Note also Brennus' apparently naff desert city nw of Nottingham that doesn't have a single resource in its BFC. I bet that despite claims that the AI can't detect hidden resources it will end up with a valuable resource (probably oil).

Note further that it is possible to remember to post the save:

Seems pretty standard progress ... which is a good thing.

It also seems that whichever part of the "Big_and_small" we are in, it is currently running out of space. We should probably settle the gems+diamonds+rubies site (it will pay for itself once a gem is up soon (but not before we get IW).

    Mao came asking for OB.

I turned him down for 2 reasons. 1. He stole our cows

and 2: we really should take him out. He's pretty small, but very advanced and 1st in score.

Agriculture came in and I selected Pottery next for some cottages.

Brennus nabbed our planned city spot.

Pottery came in and I selected IW next.

Noticed Brennus has settled our 2 planned city sites for us. We'll need a small war with him to convince him to return them to us, me think.

I've sent the WB to do some more scouting since the fish is still under Celtic control. Here's the result with out planned gem city.

On that thought, I've got a galley and an extra archer at our capital ready to ship out as soon as the settler finishes (8 turns), and IW should come in around the turn that city is built (13 turns).

Played only 10 turns to compensate the :mischief: I was last time.
Iron working will be ready next turn, what should be next? Beeline to Construction?

Despite the closed borders Judaism has spread in York (founded in China).

Canterbury founded. With the current pace it needs 33 turn to grow to size 2 and can whip Monument. There are 2 workers S from capital ready to be transfered to cut jungle. There is an archer SW to fogbust, can be called back to defend city.

We pretty much boxed on the continent and started to build axes if we want to gain some land.

    hey now all ~

sorry, i've been AWOL lately. things in RL have been "hectic" to say the least, and I don't foresee me being able to be back in the pocket for at least a few more days, maybe more.

I'm really sorry, as I've got my hand in a lot of cookie jars (least of all 3 of my own), but you see i don't even have time to write personalized messages.

I have NO idea where we are in the game as I haven't been even able to read the zone here since last week. Play on, and I shall be back ~

Good job settling the city ... we should probably start considering annexing the Chinese state into the British empire ... better do that before QSH gets Chokonu ... the bad thing is he is probably switching into war mode as well now that he is also running out of space to settle.

Got it, and will try to play tonight (depending on whether I think there is anything to discuss when I open the save tonight).

I think I'll be able to play civ again maybe tomorrow. Turned out only my monitor was broken but the laptop's still fine. I'll just have to find an external monitor.

I hope we can play in a kinda faster pace soon...

I decided to hold on playing to discuss who we are going to attack ... well, we must attack someone, right? :hammer: :mischief:

My initial thought is to attack QSH, then I remember he is protective, making it impossible to overcome without siege. Next obvious target is Brennus. He has quite a few cities in our land.

Research wise, I think we should go writing or metal casting. Former is for library, latter is for forges to increase happiness (and if people want the colossus, but that is low priority to me).

Writing for libraries is good, maybe open some borders to explore more?

Pinching Brennus's cities inside our borders sounds a plan.

    Some things never change.

I can see that the gameplay of the Usual Suspects continues to be matched only by their wit.

    I'm back. Hello all!

I think a quick war with Brennus sounds good as well at least until we get Construction. Maybe we can get Qin in on it and then stab him on the back when we have some pults.

@frankcor - good to see you back frank. ready for civving again :)

Writing is on the way towards Construction, so it would be a double pleasure :)
:agree: the 1st target should be Brennus. We need that Phants (quick happiness).
