Wow, very nice.

Abaddon, this is pretty risky, magic here. You can never know, so be careful.

Photoshop + google images :). Cut-copy-paste-resize-blending-brightness/contrast etc. :).

You can never know, so be careful.
In case something goes wrong, magic can always fail :). That's why Cortez won. Steel and muskets > magic.

Doen, you can make a nice bannor for me please? I just want a ripped bannor like yours but the top is not ripped and contains a Sun with Beams. then a Ceveron in the middle, then the bottem is red and there are yellow glowing spots. OK? Thanks! I am not too picky!

I tried to keep it simple, considering we are controling rather primitive tribes. Also, I made it within a few minutes. ;)

Deon, I hardly know yee, but I love yee already! :goodjob:

Fantastic Map, welcome to NESing!

I'm joining!

Tribe Name: Tartes
Cacique Name: Mikael
Colour: Dark Green
Location: the mouth of the river to the east of Lucea (don't know how is it called IRL, if we can change the names then it's called Tar River)
Magic User: Tonai the Fire-Freezer
Magic Spell: Freeze: it throws a ball of pure coldness that, in contact, freezes the objective. In living beings, the temperature drop might kill them. (1 MP)

The Tartes people are excellent fishers and navigators, second only to Mesaqoo's tribemen. They are also able to craft many weapons from the animals they fish and hunt: an animal's rib cage, combined with leather, makes an excellent armour and shield; fish's spines can be added to stone-point arrows or to axes for maximum damage to the enemy; and the claws of jungle tigers are given to melée fighters so that they can defeat the opposing soldiers with more efficiency.

This would be my banner:
tartesbannertt8.png

It's a representation of what would be an island: a mountain in the center (brown), jungles surrounding it (green), plains (yellow) and a beach (red (for red-coloured sand)) surrounded by the sea and traversed by rivers (watery blue).

Just incase people were thinking. Your magic casters have a pretty high immunity to magic, so don't go thinking you can pick enemies casters off on turn one :mischief:

Deon, since I am stuck with lone crappy paint, i'll need you to send me (or post here) a "pack" of the different flags, towns, totem "sprites" with white backgrounds so that i can use them on the map.

Also, planting a flag on each square a nation controls might be a bit messy.. any suggestions about how I showl who controls what squares (within the confines of MSPaint! :()

All good.

Spell: Freeze: Throws a 50m ball of pure coldness. For living beings, especailly near the centre, the temperature drop might kill them. (1 MP)

I think the flags are vital in the "cradle" of tribes. You know, the place where the "capital" is and which you consider a center of your empire. Believe me they won't mess the things up.

For squares: a dot in the corner of the square with the owner's color should be fine, or we can use another "regional" map.

Also I don't see how can you copy-paste in paint without screwing the map. There's always an instance of pasted object in the upper-left corner of the map. Try to install any free image-editing software.

Once I have a clean version of the map, and a page of "sprites" everything will be easy.

The college computers a locked to i can't install anything.

So, simply post the map without any towns or flags on.
An post the flags, towns, totems etc on a WHITE background and i can easily work with the two.

I was thinking like skin suddenly become impenetrable, like some type of armor, allowing the targets effected by the magic to engage in combat.

Sorry, I had commented on it when the forum crashed.

Essentially I want other people to comment on this, since it could be pretty damn powerful. As long as everyone else is "happy" then it is good to go.

I'm thinking perhaps 5 invulnerable for 10 mins?

As i said, up to the mob ;)

5 people invulnerable for 10 minutes can make a lot of damage if the spell is used correctly, make the guy pay a bit more in PM, 2 at least.

Id rather have everyone start out with 1MP spells.. but I can go with higher cost if that is prefered...

It can also be controlled fairly easily with suitable tactics. I'm hopeing for some really clever manouvers with magic :D
