I was playing a d+1 game where I (predictably) missed the collosus. Luckily, it was built in a decent city by a (now) republic. So I sent my caravans there, but what should I do once flight rolls around, and diminishes the trade. When I own collosus, I can build superhighways, but I cannot build superhighways in a comp's city, and I cannot make it grow to a large size. Should I start to do something now, or deal with the problem when it comes?

I don't recall ever focusing the bulk of my deliveries on a single foreign city, so I'm not sure how I'd handle this, but if it's a decent city, you'll still get some OK routes out of it. I wouldn't build a huge part of my strategy around relocating your routes because you will have to find a higher trade city to deliver to in order to replace the existing route - the value you gain after flight is probably not worth the expense of rerouting all those vans. However, you could start making internal deliveries to high trade cities of your own if you wanted to. Personally, I would start focusing more on the Delivery Bonus and try to deliver demanded goods.

Or you could always go capture that city and build those superhighways yourself. :nya:
