wow, I'm stunned... I used to see her on Bill Maher's shows, even back when he did Politically Incorrect. She seems like a very nice person but even I'll say she has some wacky views - masturbation is a sin because its lust :lol: Looks like the Dems will keep Biden's seat, I cant imagine she'll win a general state election.

Though, masturbation being a sin is irrelevant to the campaign, so long as she doesn't want to write it into the lawbooks, which she probably doesn't. For instance, I think smoking tobacco is wrong but I still support not only its legality but the right to buy it at 18 and use it (As long as an adult buys it for you) at any age.

Legality =/= morality unless it hurts someone else.

agreed. It was a mistake to nominate Sharon Angle in my state. The polls are close, but I think Reid will pull through in the end.

You can say that again, I'd rather root for the more sane moderate GOPers than the nutty and "party of NO!" GOPers

A few of the Tea Partiers are going to end up in Congress and major state offices. But they'll be knocking out more Republicans than Democrats by the looks of it. :goodjob:

We have MSNBC et al to thank for their contribution to her win. I never heard of Angle until after the primary. The left media was ripping chicken lady Lowden apart before that. I figure they saw Angle as the easier target.
 
... people said the same thing about Rand Paul, and I believe he has a comfortable lead at the moment. Things can change and he can still lose... but you guys should admit the uncomfortable possibility that O'Donnell might actually win, although it would be higher hill to climb (Tea partiers poll worse in general elections that establishment Republicans)

This seems likely. I'm not surprised she won the Republican primary though, that had been looking very possible beforehand.

I don't see why. Castle was polling 11 points ahead of Coons on 9/2...

I know that the recent polling has Coons comfortably beating O'Donnell, but do you seriously think that this will hold up and not end up a closer race, with the money that will inevitably come to her campaign from the National Republicans?

I don't think she'll be getting that much money honestly, given that much of the national GOP-y organizations, like FreedomWorks, refused to endorse her. The state GOP chair said she isn't fit for any office. She ran in 2008 and was outperformed by John McCain (ouch).

Coons, however, is going to get a buttload of cash. O'Donnell's message of theocratic, social conservatism is highly out of step with her state, and this movement (which isnt based on social issues, but this vague mad-as-hell-ism). She'll do better than the 35% she got last time, but I think she loses by at least 8%.
