During an mp game tonight, Acheron was killed by the Elohim.
I have to say that this is the first time I have ever seen the AI take out Acheron and to make it more of an oddity, it was done by the elohim.

One turn after the dragon was defeated, I sailed my ship over to the city to see what army the Elohim massed to take out this mighty beast, I was surprised to see an Axeman and an archer, all that was left from this noteworthy battle.

So I am curious if anyone else has come across this situation:mischief:

<note, this was done by the AI>

In my game Elohim defeated him too and it was turn 100 or less! WTH
I checked them with worldbuilder - nothing thay had could kill that dragon!

AI Bonus vs Barbarians + Bonus vs Animals + Preference for building Stacks of units. Especially if the bonus against Barb/Animal is applied as a penalty to the Barbarian instead of a bonus to the Attacker. (not completely certain that the Animal Bonus also applies to Beast, but I think it does)

Its not unusual for me to see at least two stacks of ai civs sitting next to Acheron's city waiting to attack. A lot of the time they do eventually beat him, if I dont beat them to it myself.

What's odd, once I had formed an alliance with the Clan, and they had a stack near Acheron's city, so I thought I'd lend a hand and sent down a mage. He gave their troops the promotion, but they still did not attack.

ive seen the ai send armies to take him out, but that was before all units had a 10% chance to resist fear, so they just sat there...

Yeah, as of late I've seen Acheron taken down more than once by insane stacks of catapults. The hippus are usually the culprits, but the Elohim have courage, and can actually ignore the fear factor.

The bonus vs. Animals applied to units with the bAnimal tag. It is not based on unitcombat at all. The only Beast units that has this tag and the associated weakness to this AI bonus are Hill Giants.

I've never won with anything under 10% odds. Ever. though the AI does seem to get more favorable results, so it could be possible.

Best I've won was at 7% odds, wasn't trying to kill that longbow, was just trying to smash it down to an actual health my veteran units could take him down:p

I've won a 1.something % battle once. I was just trying to weaken Acheron so he could be captured. Oops.

The clan and barbarians don't attack each other, and can use each other's roads.

So, they had that huge stack next to him just to bask in his warm fiery glow? Oh, actually that is what they are supposed to do. Hmm.

I am not sure why they do that. They also like to have huge stacks near other barbarian cities. Not sure why.
