Acularius' GEM for Caveman2Cosmos

yeah the stupid vulcano overreaction destroyed my game as Tibet as well.

So I can't start another game as long as this persists --- or how can you disable volcano-events manually?

A "tectonic" bug-option would be fine btw. maybe having choices of high, middle or low vulcanic activity, much like the units-per-tile-option.

EDIT: btw my game crashed several times trying to start as the YUE --- however, when starting as Tibet, I think they were in the game. (SVN of the day before yesterday)

At the moment, Yue and Chola will result in a crash. Swahili does not and I can't figure out why. :/

If someone can, give me a heads up, if not I'll have this wait until tomorrow and I can look up reference materials in the Civ fanatic forum archives of knowledge. :P

They load up, and as far as I can tell, can be dealt with in diplomacy, but I have yet to get Yue and Chola working as a scenario choice.

@Sgtslick
Enjoy those weeks off!

Transferred from another thread:
That's fine and I was about to say I found it.
Hmmm, at least I can understand this, but I do see the lines where is mentions 'sulphur' and 'obsidian'.
Can't say I could code it, but at least looking at it I can understand what is going on. XD

If anyone starts a new game and the volcanoes still act the way they do with the current SCN, pls let me know, thx. (provide screenie.)

I'll start up a new game and find out, right now at work.
Though this morning the SVN tortoise was being... 'unpleasant', giving me a lock out error. Hopefully when I get home this won't be the case but the usual fix to that problem has been re downloading the SVN in its entirety.

Yeah it did the same thing to me also, darn SVN :p

Usually means I have to 'clean up' and then it will let me 'update', but the time in my morning is usually short. :P

So I'm updating now and will start up a new game to check.

Yeah, thats why i keep two copies of the SVN one i keep updating about 5-6 times a day, and the other maybe once every 2 weeks or so, just incase, because i have noticed that the everyday updating screws things up sometimes, so i rely on the once every 2 week one to keep it better, because i get that darn Black Terrain alot lately.

I don't think I've ever encountered the black terrain problem. I'll stop there or I'll jinx the situation forever more. XD

It was a joke referring to Ori - the Civ4 event guy :)

I updated the svn today and started new GEM game and volcano's were going crazy, got no screenie's of it coz I ended up just going into world editor and removing them all and after trying to edit the event and have it still pop up, I deleted it altogether.
Posted this before about it in the bugs v23 thread
Is there a workaround for the volcano problem?
*nvm i just put <iMinTreasury>999999 under volcano in CIV4EventTriggerInfos.xml lol that should stop it ;)
*edit2 those persistent volcanoes still popping up :trouble:
*edit3 didn't see ori_CIV4EventTriggerInfos.xml in Assets\Modules\ori\Events at first, just reduced the iweight in that to 1 aswell as in Assets\XML\Events CIV4EventTriggerInfos.xml and that stopped the volcano's -- for anyone wanting to stop them.

I have still ctds with the last gem map and SVN 3003. I have try with aborigines, atztec and assyre, but after first turn i fall on desktop.

I'm still using the previous version but after I fixed the civic for yagan it works fine now.

Odd, I fixed it with my latest upload.
The Yagan civic problem.
Going to test to see if civfanatics properly uploaded it.

*Looked at the 06-30-2012*
Everything looks fine in regards to Yagan now.
Keep me posted for more errors.
Just remember Yue and Cholas still are not selectable from what I can tell.

Well the volcano issue suddenly made the game really interesting:
http://imgur.com/a/HOAAi

I don't have the most recent screenshot, but just let me tell you, the dormant volcano eventually disappeared and London is no more (both because it interfered with the already established Paris and because this pre-historic terraforming cut it off from the coast).
It's especially entertaining because I myself haven't got a single volcano this game. (But Paris is a freaking fire hazard)

I play GEM because of the fun "what-if" scenarios, but I would have never guess one of those would be "what if britain was connected to mainland europe?". Well I hope that game keeps up with the surprises, your map is certainly full of opportunities for those.

I am having a lot of "Error in end player turn event handler..."
"Error in begin player turn event handler..."
"Error in unitkilled event handler..."

With the pre-colombian GEM (30-6) and the SVN version from today (3013).

Sometimes a CTD after this lines sometimes without UI.

I'll keep an eye on your post in the bugs section, but I'm having only one of those problems.

I'm thinking they might be linked to the Cholas and Yue, which are re-purposed China and India respectively.Only seeing it with my casual game as Yangshao and not the Let's Play Persia save.
