AD 100 space launch?

Could any one who has done give me a step, by step run through of an early space launch. My game style has always been to build as big as pop as pos but recently i've tried to achieve this ad100 launch i've read about. I can get an early launch bonus but am still a few hundred years of achieving this feat.

AFAIK spaceship parts aren't available until 1AD so a BC landing isn't possible.

That's correct. I few months ago I played I game at low level and couldn't build my spaceship (it was around 100BC). At 1 AD the parts will be available. So the earliest launchdate is 1AD.

Oh, so THAT'S why I couldn't build spaceships in my game. I just got the Apollo Wonder by 800BC, but there were no space parts available at all.

Makes me wonder though...shouldn't there be a bonus score for getting to Alpha Centauri far early into the game?

this is a problem with heading for a max score. the lack of benefit for getting to alpha (400 points max) is miniscule. By far and away the biggest part of any civ score is the population (as you will always make them ultra happy one turn before the end of the game)
