Add on civs in a multi-player game

Hi everyone,

Im currently playing civ 6 with my friends a lot. In my new interest i seeked for the perfect civ for me and i tried many out for me and my problem right now is, that i wanted to try babylon and saw he is a dlc/addon civ.
My question is can I buy babylon as an addon and play a online game with my friends, without them having that same dlc/addon of babylon?

I would love to get an answer.

Yes, you can. I have many times played with my friends using DLC civs they don't own. In fact if you are the one creating the game and you turn on game mode(s) added by the NFP DLC, your friends who do not own the DLC can join in.
This doesn't apply to expansion packs however. If you have GS and your friends don't, your friends can't join in to the game unless you change the ruleset into R&F or standard depending on which they have.
