Advisors on crack

I can't trust my advisors. In a negoation screen I'm told the they are our scientific equals but when I have a look for myself, they're 4 techs behind.

What else are my advisors being republican about?

Playing on pangaea, I had every resource and luxury multiple times, still my advisor insisted on gathering more resources to trade with my 'friends'. (There was but one civ left and I was at war with them )

I always listen to my military advisor if he tells me my military is inferior!

But the trade advisor never stops wanting more. Has anyone ever captures every resource on the map? Maybe she stops then.

Controling every resource tile on the map does not make the Trade Advisor content. Much how like the Foreign Advisor tells me to find new civs once I've conquered the whole world ...

I usually read what the Advisors say, but take it with a grain or seven of salt.

I agree with "the Last Conformist" . The info is useful but it isn't gospel!!

In the WW2 scen as Japan I got uranium (in China) and the trade advisor was telling me "we should find more and sell it to our friends" - huh? The only civs that I could sell it to would build atomic bombs and nuke me. *sigh* I think the only use for the advisors is as eye candy, once you use the appropriate graphics mod...
