I had an idea concerning "training up" many people that are new players and want to become versed in the ways of a specific department. It involves a special position in departments likely called an "advisor" or something, who will give plans to the deputy and minister. It would be a person without deputy roles or powers, more like a citizen working in the ministry to help them. They would not be able to post instructions or act as the representative of their department in the TC, but such a position can give them vital experience. The position could be gained by asking for it in the ministry and there would be no limit to how many "advisors" there were. I think that this may be a good way to introduce new players to the democracy game, show them the ropes of a department, and let them become experienced in the field so that diversity among positions is more common. at this point, it seems like the people in office are generally the same people, perhaps in different positions. With this, perhaps some "New blood" can be made much more wanting to vote for in elections and it can increase our membership. What do you think?

It is something I have tried myself and it is a good idea. However taking on an 'apprentice' should be discretionary rather than mandatory.

I can't imagine anyone will be able to find fault with this proposal.
I hope it goes to the polls soon. :)

Hmm, I am curious. Can the oldbies take advantage of being in this system?

Back in DG1, there were Chat Reps (sort of #3 in the sub-chain). Something similar could be done. With the downsizing of the government, there's not much for citizens to do.

I think this is a good idea. I see no need for a poll, just do it.

Sounds pretty good to me... Sense some people like to drop the unemployment rates within this game, this would hopefully create new jobs :).

absolutely! anyone could have such a position.

Ill make a poll anyways though, just to make sure it is the will of the people. You would likely have to put in in the constitution to make it known though...

As a citizen, I currently feel free to give my unsolicited advice to all the departements I feel in need.

Will I still be able to do that once "advisors" are established?

If yes, what is the difference between a contributing citizen and an advisor?

contributing citizens are just random people that drop notes, apprentices are people who become familiar with the department and therefore get the experience needed to run such a department, with the help of the minister themselves.

Yes, certainly, this advisor plan is more of a educational experience, to help create future leaders within the game.
