I seriously think that for the time being Afghanistan would be best served with an enlightened Western dictatorship. Like a modern version of a colony - just less exploitation and more smart development.
But no God forbid democracy! :woohoo:

Afghan soldiers shooting Americans has more to do with Afghan culture that predates Islam than the religion itself. They have a concept of honor that requires revenge for some of the slightest insults. This comes from their culture as Afghans, not from Islam. Compound that with some of the sensitivities of Islam, like the treatment of the Koran or of their women, that are foriegn to Americans and you get some unintentional or seemingly minor disagreements that turn violent.

In my experience it is not difficult to get along with the Army and police men. But yes, they can be rather unpredictable if you slight their honor.

God forbid someone for putting some Qu'rans than have been defaced and most probably were being used for Talibani propaganda, rather than the issue of Pederasty in the country. Talk about having the right priorities!

So you have been deployed in Afghanistan capslock? The "honor"-aspect is an interesting and plausible one. Sure gives leeway for additional rather irrational aggression.

The same way fleeing Nazi Germany in 1936 is a precaution.

Japan had some twisted notion of honour too. It only took two bombs and after that they've been exemplary. :nuke::nuke:

The reactionary culture that sprung up in Japan as a result is worse than anything you can imagine. Worse than 9/11 or the holocaust. It is yet another pockmark of Amerikan influence, yet they don't even acknowledge it and instead coerce the rest of the world into lamenting isolated terror attacks on their brutal occupation forces. They are brainwashing the world into Amerikan sympathizers...

Drop the bs derogatory term when you're addressing people and then maybe I'll believe you are looking for a discussion.

    Thank you.

I'm not serious about nuking Afghanistan, but I'd like to hear what reactionary culture you're speaking of that is worse than the holocaust.

In hindsight, I cannot choose which was the worse effect of the Crusades and the Islamic Conquest of the Levant, the 700 years of religious wars or every babbling booze on the internet citing it as a reason why Christianity/Islam is evil beyond comprehension.

Though attackfighter deserves some sort of special honour for trying to justify the Crusades as a good thing and then dragging in Jews in Nazi Germany into his argument.

    -----------------------------------

On topic, there has to be better ways to dispose of unwanted Korans than simply burning it. One would have thought that asking a Muslim cleric what to do with them would have been a good idea.

Osama is dead, the Al Q camp is gone - now get out of this backwards ass country. No more lives are worth it. They had their chance to move out of the stone age but they dont want to.

If another regime gets in and starts training terrorist, bomb the hell out of them. No more middle eastern nation building.

Why do Amerikans think that Afghanistan is in the stone age? Do they even know what that means?

If you want to cite them as an example, and you feel you are informed enough, you should be able to cite the individual crusades and/or Islamic Conquests as an example.

Talking about "The Crusades" is as stupid as talking about "The Sino-Japanese Wars" or "The Irish Rebellions" or "The Anglo-French Wars".

They were a series of conflicts stretched across two hundred years, involving a bewildering variety of combatants and several lifetimes worth of events. If you condense that down into two words, your argument should be ignored.

"The Irish Rebellions"? Is that when Eamon de Valera founded the Republic of Connacht and fought Cromwell at the Battle of the Boyne?
