    The TRUE last update!

I just added five new units to the database,

    African Sam Infantry,
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5200
I based it’s skin off of my African modern infantry so they should go together fine.

    African Heavy Spearman,
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5197
I tried to add a bit of a bronze effect to the armor… I don’t know if it turned out right tough.

    African Heavy Swordsman,
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5196
Most of my time was spent on this unit! The sword is based off of one of Rabbit White’s scimitars using this image as inspiration,
    http://images.encarta.msn.com/xrefmedia/sharemed/targets/images/pho/t038/t038862a.jpg
(The lil’ guy with the sword to the left of the main figure) I think it turned out ok, even though I don’t know what anyone could use it for.

    African Modern Worker
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5199
It tried texturing this guy some jeans to give him a “John Henry” look, however, to quote another poster on this site, they always ended up looking like pajamas. Oh well.

    African Light Horseman,
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5198
Bits and pieces of this unit where lying around on my computer so I desided to finish it off and upload it.

This will be the last time I update this page, hopefully anyhow. Enjoy!
    Screenshots are in the links!

    PS.
I should state that most of the units in this thread come from these images posted by Plotinus, (Hint the African Early Calvary and Modern amongst bits and pieces of others)
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=3692858&postcount=16
    I hope he doesn’t mind.

    Old units 3
    Spoiler :
    One last update!
Hello again everyone, I just wanted to announce that I uploaded six new units into the database.
    First off the Askari! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Askari
I always thought that the database was missing some colonial troops, after all, it wasn’t called a World War because it was only fought in Europe.

    The King’s African Rifles
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4780

    African Askari
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4781

    African Askari Machinegun
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4782

    Also I have created,
African Grenadier (which is heavily influenced by the Askari)
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4783

    African Modern Infantry
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4784

I tried to get the colors for the texture of the modern infantry directly off of this picture, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Nigerian_troops_with_US_C130.jpg
For once, I think the skin didn’t turn out half bad.

    And the African Rebel,
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4785

Hopefully someone will be able to use these.
As usual, the screenshots will be in the link.

    Old units 2
    Spoiler :
    UPDATE!
    Hello everyone,
I just wanted to announce that I have uploaded ten new units into the database.
    They are:

    African Pikeman
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4639

    African Early Swordsman
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4640

    African Crossbowman
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4641

    African Early Cavalry
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4642

    African (Muslim) Early Cavalry
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4643

    African Horse Archer
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4644

    African Cavalry
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4645

    African (Muslim) Rifleman
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4646

    African (Muslim) Cannon
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4647

    African Maceman
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4648

As you can probably tell, I'm still working on my skinning... Hopefully I will improve.
A note on the Cannon unit, I made him fat to help cover up some odd bone deformities… It would seem that the cannon unit is made a tad bit different from the others, oh well.

Screenshots are on the download page.
I hope someone is able to use these units.:)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have a african pikeman and a crossbowman in the works, however, it's a tad bit hard getting the textures to look at least respectable.

    Sorry about that, Screenshots added.
Thanks for the kind words! I’m just happy someone’s getting some use out of these units! They can be used as placeholders until better african flavor units are made at the very least.

Is White Rabbit still making the EDU mod or does someone want to take it over? When's he going to add all these guys in, and all the other recent uploads? :hmm: These are all great btw Bakuel  I'm struggling to think of African units that haven't been made now...
