I have just found out that Age of Empires Online models use the gr2 format... I wonder whether they work in Civ5?
It seems to me that the textures have to be converted (they apparently are in DDT file format), but I wonder whether the model works as is. In case anyone wants to try out whether this works, I am providing a download with the model files for the Egyptian Elephant Archer below:
