Finally, after years of dogmatic believe of the beginning of Civ in 4000BCe.
People around the world has started to open its eyes and see all the discrepancies with this version of History.
Could Civ VII devs reshape the meaning of Ages and Civ switch to something beyond
this non-sense that 20.000 years old building in the Americas (Or underwater everywhere else)
somehow isn't connected with our History ( of Western, White, Christians, etc)???
But maybe there is something more... to our past?

Age Resets to me have an historical sense, but they should be:

First Age 12.000 years
Second Age about 6000 years
Third Age ? I don't see any reason to split the last Age into smaller Ages...

24.000 BC - 12.000 Era >>>> Fantasy Civs, that's COMPLETELY FINE to me, but could be also Kemet, Denisovan, Neanderthal, Atlantians, Cro-Magnon, Sapiens... they would build temples only, explore and go to war. No cities. A Mixed of fantasy and real anthropology to fit the game needs. SEA level 400 feet lower.

Ice Age - Fire - Tsunami, whatever.... 400 years of upheaval

11.600 BC - 5650 BC Era >>>> Paracas civ amongst other, Etruskans, Kushites, etc. plenty of city builders but very LOW food and population. And VERY COLD setting. Sea RISES dramatically from the last Age. Already there are Archeolgy sites to be discovered.

Another massive event, metheor impact, Tsunami... 400 years of upheaval

5250 BC - Present day >>>> Food yield explosion, SEA RISES another 100 feet, even MORE archeology sites to be discovered (mostly underwater)

Our classic Civ experience.

This sounds really cool. I like the thematic incoming tides. I played the beta for Endless Legends and the tidefall felt weird for me in that after rains the land was not taken away, but more was revealed; the archeology sites found by the second age civs would inform them on matters of religion, myths, customs, etc...

The concept here is that everything is built by previous players or AI, so a first Age civ, could go underwater for the second age, but on the final Age, there could be what Randall Carlsson call isostatic rebound...

Are you saying that people who play a First Age are creating a map seed for other players playing the second age? So you could in fact even win the prehistoric First Age, with whatever criteria apply to it, and once the game ended it would be logged and transformed to create the second age for a new set of players?

Absolutely... it is a possibility... as it would be possible to also connect all three ages in the "classic" way, but this idea would work with the current
Civ7 core files...

If people get bored before entering the last Age, this time it means they are gonna be missing the whole of the "classical" Civ 3500BC-2000SD experience...
Game turns should triple to 1500 turns minimum.... 500 turns per age...

In Each Age a Great project could mean victory...

I think of the Apollo Mission... something that could work for the two previous Ages... what would that be???

The tower of Babel as the first great project could be one... very hard to finish...
The second Age... It could be some other kind of victories type, Science or Astronomical marvels... and some easier ones... or the Solomon mines...
even if It could be completely wrong historically speaking... Gobekli Tepe was built before or after 12.000BC???
Maybe that could be one Science Project kind of victory... that makes a little more sense than Solomon mines where we have zero context where to put it...
Maybe in the first Age with the Tower of Babel, as a kind of "great Bank" Economic replacement for the Era...?
so everybody if decides to go for Total World domination could end the game right there...

Yields should scale appropriately, with fractions for the first Ages... still fractions in the second Age, and only in the last Age finally yields should return to the actual
multiplier config... remember only Copper chisels and some hardwood..

Totally doable.

PS: The First age I think of it as "Harmony" or Golden Age
Second Age is all a giant Ice Dam walling the entire world at both ends... maybe not both...
anyway far more land mass excluding possible terraforming the first Age people had... if that is what you mean.... bc of lower sea level
but the actual geomorphy is just speculation, it's really complex to unravel...

I AM NOT MENTIONING GIANT PET BEAVERS as possible "terraforming" creatures that "architects" could use to shape the land....
or four thorns short nose Elephants Indians and Indonesian painted or sculpted as very likely "friendly" creatures that early humans had access
to that in the third Age were lost....

Third Age there is natural land re-emersion from under the Ice weight loss, North America as well as old "Tartaria", Europe, East, and Africa, had all more waterways than we imagine...
bc the ice was melting for a long period of time... before the Ice damn collapsed... now no more navigable waterways and inner seas but Deserts and plains....

I like this idea how it is collaborative. Of course, you would make some preset past ages, but once the project was up and going, you would get real maps from real prior playthroughs
