AI empire to collapse ?

Dear all;

In the game I am currently playing (Napoleon, level 6, large map) the Arabs are my biggest rival.
They have a population of 160.000.000, a net happiness of -24 and an approval rate of 0 % !!!

I read some interesting threads about huge numbers of rebels appearing when your happiness falls below -10.

When is this empire going to collapse, or doesn't that happen to an AI ?

I attached the file; the scores I'm talking about are visible with the InfoAddict MOD !!

Unforunately, barbs and rebels in civ 5 cannot capture cities instead, they only pillage them for the gold.

It's -20 it starts isn't it?

Anyhow, they'll basically destroy their empire if there's enough, doubt there would be though. Their happiness would come in line anyhow after a city was taken out (if one was).

-24 happiness? I just gotta ask - is there a special designed angry face icon when your happiness plummets to such depths?

-24 is easy to achieve, I've been well over -40 before when I've taken large cities quickly... sometimes the happiness hit can be -40 for just one large city! Took 2 large cities in 1 turn once for a combined total of -76 unhappiness. Worst part is that it can take 15 turns of occupation before you can even start to repair the damage!

I hope they are doing something in this patch to make taking of such cities less of an impact! Although I have to admit that civil unrest is hardly a problem to artillery!

And now another weird part.....
Two turns later, their hapiness jumped from -21 to +11.
Bought 7 stadiums in one turn ???

And the fun part...... a couple of turns later, I won the game with a science victory.
Absolutely stupid, knowing that the Arabs were miles ahead of me in science and the Polynesians already had 31 SP's completed.

It tells how well you are managing your empire !!

In the demographies, one of the categories is approval. It tells you the percentage of people who approve of your leadership, which is calculated by how happy the empire is. Like Barack Obama's approval rating is around 50%, which means around 50% approve of his leadership, and 50% approval in ciV means around 50% approve of your leadership. But you'd have to have VERY low happiness to get that low down in ciV for some reason, the approval calcuations aren't that consistent with reality.
