Then on the next turn they go "Herp Derp, your promise of not settling next to us is broken, now we hate you"

This was in a game where I basically left the Russian civ with 2 cities after I declared peace with Russia so I can pound on Indian civ as Ghandi was crapping out wonders. Russian civ runs a settler right next to my capital and plops down a city there :/ .

Shortly after Japan does the same thing with a city I annexed from Russian and they went "Herp Derp, your attempts at expansion is making us lalalala" after they settle 3 new cities around my annexed city. All the other annoyances with the game I can bear, but this one takes the cake.

lmao Civ 5 has the most hilarious AI of any civ game.

It's like something out of Monty Python.

Haha I know huh, today I was jammed in between 3 city states and they would all take the luxury tiles around them. I had to kill them all and they didn't go down easy.

Sometimes I feel that, if AI ships worked in this game, all of the civs from the other continents would also beeline to settle directly next to me within 20 turns just for the lulz.

The city state placement annoys me far more than other civs being ******ed with city placement. The fact that you can't burn them down is extremely annoying and has led to me drastically reducing the amount of them on most maps.

Honestly, of all the complaints I've read about, this is the one I'm least looking forward to experiencing. I remember II where, if there was any tiny hole somewhere inside your boarders, the AI would stick a city there and be like "what?" That's one of the (dozens of) reasons I can't play II anymore now that I've experienced how IV fixed it. I suppose it's unreasonable of me to hope they fix it with a patch, isn't it? =/

Get this, when I liberated a city, the first chance they got when I ended my turn they told me I settled too close to their city...

They were wiped OFF THE MAP, and I brought them back... Only to have them tell me they're not happy I am there next to them (for the last 500 years!)
