Don't know how long they'll stay. If war erupts between Darius and Liz, the settler and immortal will be teleported outside English territory--probably to the two-tile island east of the one-tile island where they're at now.

Military units might stay *forever* (until war/AP resolution that close OB). Settler might get disbanded (well, it disappears from stack after some time when I have seen situation like this).

In my current game, my troops and the viking troops both invaded a mutual enemy two tile island in the early iron age. I got there one turn sooner. Right after his troops landed, I took the city. It is now the late 18th century. His iron age troops are still there, as guests in my city, enjoying the taverns and beaches. Ragnar is still one of my "buddies".
