OK, it happened again, and this time I happened to play with the original mod (it`s GOTM4) and to have saved just before I traded.

!!!!!!!! If you haven`t completed GOTM4 yet, please don`t download the *.sav !!!!!!!!!

Ok, here`s the sav (zipped).

Go to the advisor, contact Ghandi. Check sellable techs: you can sell him Electricity.

Close Indian contact, go to the Persians. Sell them Electricity for the counteroffer they make.

Go back to India. Now you can sell the Electricity!!!!! Somehow they got Electricity from thin air!!!!!!!

I also tried leaving a deal on the table with the Indians, then selling to Persia, then going back to India - the deal`s still there, but Electricity is gone!!!

IIRC this only happened to me with the Indians - never with any other civ. Firaxis: please fix this!!!!!

edit: this btw has nothing to do with the fact that I don`t have a capital. it also happenes in"normal" games.

Have you noticed too that Indian riflemen don't shoot their guns when they run around unlike every other gun-happy civ?

I smell a conspiracy!

yeah, they`re passivly assimilating us

seriously, have you tried it out????

I have never doubted you when you say that AI civs trade during your turn. At least not since it happened to me as well. :D

Yep, it does it all the time. I personally think it does it more on higher levels. (Which might make it not a bug, but a helpful hand for the dirty low down AI.)

If I recall correctly, I think Soren said this was the AI civs trading aggressively amongst themselves as soon as one of them got something good, in an attempt to stay competitive. What makes it seem like a cheat is that they can trade at will during your turn (this I think was new in the v1.16f patch, but I'm not positive on this).

In any case, a lot of people have complained about the net result, so I believe it's been removed.

Dan

Good to hear Dan! By "it has been removed" I asume that you mean it has been removed in the upcoming patch? ;)

Edit: Now that Dan has edited his post above, I am not confused anymore.

I hope it really will be gone in the next patch. Perhaps - to counter tech brokering - the AI should sometimes just refuse to buy tech. Because the way it is now I can`t keep up with tech on deity by researching the ones the AI doesn`t research fast and trading them, which would be IMPO - fair!

btw: what do the AI trade for??? If the in-turn trading is really trading, why doe the money and tech status - except for the suddenly traded tech - never change????? They don`t seem to trade for money or tech, but with me they hardly ever trade for lux, except when they are badly behind!

So I guess it`s not really trading! It`s just a present so i can make less money!

I have seen them trade both luxuries and resources with one another during my turn.

This mechanism is good IMHO...I would otherwise be able to rip the A.I off left, right and center in negociations!

The A.I also seems to value information that is only held by you...e.g I was the only person in he world with communications with the Aztecs...he indians would pay me 600 gold for it! If that information didn't become public knowledge quick think of how much I'd make from the other 12 A.Is!!!

You have a good point, Kitten. But I still think it is annoying and would be happy if it was removed.

You`re right! But I don`t think this si a good way of fixing that, since it sometimes means a guy mysteriously acquires a tech needed for a wonder. Had that happen:

I needed 1 turn to complete the wonder. So I sold the tech to weak civs, and to them only. If they sell it on to a competitor, he needs one turn to get it and change production, another to complete - can`t be done! So I thought...... But he got the tech during my turn and the next one finished the wonder..... :aargh:

What really annoys me is when I play on deity, huge map and 16 civs. When I sell a tech to someone, the game sometimes freezes for a few secs. You can just imagine that Liz is trading for all she´s worth with everybody right behind your back.
