Good evening.

Only played Civ4, so probably missing some bases here, if anyone could aid me on these matters, I would be very thankful.

1* I read by a player, that isn't suggested to build every "Building" you have available, since the maintenance cost may be costly to your economics.

But, isn't investing on every building that my empire will grow? Ain't I gonna need every asset of bonus for the later game when things start to really push up?

2* Roads, since roads cost for maintenance, is it a mad idea to only have roads, city to city for the trade route bonus? I'm having difficultys having the gold spare to maintain every road I have in every single hexagon.

3* What is the meaning of "Culture"? Does it help on creating citizens? Or just aids on matter of "physical space" \ border, of your city?

Roads should be only city to city, all making way to capital at some point.

I wouldn't build every building. Be selective, only put military buildings in a few cities with good production.

Science buildings are good for cities that are going to grow.

Economy buildings are for cities with a decent gold income. These don't cost have a maintenance but they do cost build time. Production cities are often better off making units or some such.

Building costs add up!
Culture makes your borders pop faster and, more importantly, gives you global points per turn towards a social policy purchase. This can be seen at the top of the screen in purple I think.

Thank you very much for the answer sir.

Is there a need to have roads on Trading posts to my cities in order to gain any kind of gold bonus? Or just city to city?

If I may, since I'm pretty new, I was wondering if investing initially on food, to generate more citizens asap, in order for later, to invest the citizens on gold hexagons and production ones.

Im loving the game, it needs different focus and different strategys depending on my needs, and my economy situation, pretty refreshing.

Only build roads and railroads to connect your cities to your capital, there is no reason to build roads on resource tiles! You want the extra gold generated from trade routes.

I always try and build the Angor Wat because it reduces the culture required to expand by 75% per tile, so in most cities I will put down a Monument and a Temple generate culture expand my borders and save my gold for paying off city states.

Ally with as many Maritime City States as you can, they can provide an epic food bonus.

And most of the time, I only bother with one worker per city, espcially if I built the Pyramids so I have the 50% worker construction speed bonus.
