Alienware Desktop/Keyboard Flashing

I just bought a new computer, and am looking forward to actually being able to play Civ again. It's an Alienware which happens to have a controlled keyboard background lighting (and some lights on the desktop itself).

Whenever I play Civ 6, the lights flash randomly. I did some reading and the game is supposed to change your color scheme according to what civ you are playing as. However I can't seem to get the flashing to stop. It's to annoying so I just turn all background lighting off while playing.

I just wanted to ask any other potential Alienware civfanatics out there if they had the same problem and have an easy fix?

Asked this in an alienware site. I guess its been a problem for years, and it doesn't look like it will get fixed any time soon. The only work around is just to turn off the keyboard lighting all together. A bit disappointing, it seemed like a fun little immersive feature.
