Surely it's too far away to count as Kongo

Edit: don't know the video, found the screenshot on a thread here earlier

Sydney Opera House and CN Tower were in Civ 5, but Australia and Canada were never in the game.

Great Zimbabwe is probably a wonder based on the ruins Zimbabwe is named after. Just an educated guess. I often see them suggested as a Civ but I don't see it as feasible. Pulled from the wiki article:
Would make a sweet wonder though.

    Spoiler :

Think I found C5, guys. It's Suryavarman II of Khmer. The background and the overall colouring are a little off but I think it matches pretty well otherwise. Once I saw the tweet, it was pretty much a no-brainer, quick and easy to find.

Assuming you mean C5, it's actually not thaaat unlikely.
Based on the far away-picture alone.

I discarded this picture a pair of times when searching for a Southeast Asian match, mainly because of couloring and no relevant features that could provide the beard-like brighter patch in the civet image. However, never tried to blur it to see if it this coul be an effect of color combinations. I'm in the phone now, so image edit tools are limited. Can someone check?

BTW: with Amsterdam confirmed as city-state and Stockholm somewhat, D5-E5 become again a great mystery? Any other guess non double-leader?

Can't really see it... Also Khmer is not after Kongo alphabetically.

When was it ever NOT a mystery? :D
Well, E1 alphabetical position would fit for Turkey, but the only reason to call them Turkey instead of the Ottomans would be if their leader was Ataturk. And though E1 could maaaaybe be a picture of someone in an early modern suit, instead of a black armour, I still don't think it's likely.
No wait, scratch that. I actually thought of Ur again, instead of Sumer. D:

On the other hand... if we call them "The Sumerians"... I guess we could also call it "The Ottomans" what was used before, or wasnt it?

We already tried this path. I agree that its pretty close, but its definitely not close enough to be called a match.

Edit: And they didn't call them "the Aztecs" in the alphabetical chart, so that route is moot too.

Ah damn, double derp! Forgot to check the alphabet, didn't I. :(

What do you guys think of the tweet though? I find it pretty random to tweet something like that for no reason. Ulterior motives?

B5 - I wish that it was someone from Great Moravia, but the Goths or Golden Horde seems more likely.

I believe that C5 is one of the many Persian queens

    Zenobia - Queen of Palmyre

I for one would certainly not mind if it was Zenobia. Quite attractive.

Palmyra doesn't fit alphabetically, but they would be a great civ to add. Shame about Gran Colombia, but they might add them in an expansion too. Fingers crossed. I want to see a Bolivar leader screen.

I see no reason why not; after all, Brazil would not previously have been in the base game.

    Take a wild guess
The Turks, Turkey, or the Turkish Empire were common names for the Ottoman Empire as well.

The picture on the right upon first glance appears to be somebody wearing a sombrero sporting what looks like a beard. But on the chest is what look like female breasts suggesting that the beard might be a veil. If the breasts are simply an optical illusion, then there a strong chance this could be Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana. meaning the supposed beard is really his collar. Or maybe it's Guadalupe Victoria who was the first President of Mexico. Then again it could be anybody.

I had a thought a little bit ago. Maybe C5 is someone from the Mughal empire, would fit alphebetically and is similar to Turks/Ottomans as well as Mongols I looked through some pics already of Akbar the Great and some others, but could not find anything.

Civ doesn't do names like Mughal or Golden Horde. It's more Indian Empire, Mongolian Empire etc...

I very much doubt that they will start calling a Turkish empire when they've had Ottoman Empire before.
