True. So it could just be the in-game portrait of Saladin.
If that's the case then it's definitely Saladin because the leaders are listed in the alphabetical order of their respective civilizations. A2 (Arabia) lies between A1 (America) and A3 (Aztecs).
Yeah, so would I, but he didn't look like that in Civ IV either:
Somehow I expect the Arab leader to have more facial hair so this guy looks more South Asian.
Perhaps they are giving the long beard to C5? The Ottoman or Persian?
We don't know who C5 is, it could be a mongol leader or something.
Kingdom of Heaven had just come out around the time Civ 4 leaderheads were starting to be finalized, so it makes sense that Saladin would have a thicker beard in that game.
Frederick Barbarossa has been spotted. Right side of image. Credit goes to StreptoFire from /r/civ/
See it. But it is just "Fre", not confirmed yet.
Edit2: see the red beard, 99% confirmed, if not 100%.
Barbarossa's in the very left of the Hojo shot
also, used an Smart Sharpen for this one. Feel like I've taken it as far as it can go
His beard looks fittingly spectacular... All 30% of it that isn't cut off.
That's all the confirmation I need.
It's true guys.
The leaderboard, the civs... it's all true.
With Russia and Poland there would be only two Slavic countries. I don't see how Portugal would be a better choice for any reason. Switzerland was never a dominant player. As I said, it's ok to have different opinion but there are more than enough reasons to put Poland in the game other than "to sell more copies". Especially when Poland is not that rich or big nowadays anyway and if that would be the key then there are dozen of other countries that would fit "commercial reasons" better or similarly like Canada, Belgium, Australia, Argentina, South Africa etc.
Catherine de Medicis is not popular in France, at all.
Amazing! He looks really Disney-like there. I actually like it!
This looks like B5 to me
