Alright, who's going to help with my IT project?

Yes, yet another in our ongoing and incredibly popular series "Hippo's Homework" This time, it's an IT project based on 'Computers In Society' - rolleyes: Yeah, coolus notus. She cut the javascript unit short for this BS ) and I've drawn the area of 'Programming'. So...(drumroll please)...

1. I need screenshots! Preferably localized (ie: not full screen) shots of C++, Perl, and anything else you happen to be able to get your paws on in action. (I already have some VBasic & webprogramming shots though)

2. Similar to #1, I'm looking for some good tutorial sites on those languages where I could get a basic understanding of what they are in order to fill up my speech.

3. A good defenition of the different kinds of programming languages. The only standard category I know of is Object-oriented, but I'm sure there are others that need mention in my presentation, so if you'd care to enlighten me it'd be much appreciated.

4. Lastly, if there are any great sites you know of for a basic overview of computer programming, it's history, etc. etc. then please pass them on! Thanks!

Okay, good I'll check back in here tomorrow. I have to give my speech by Friday I believe

One other thing, if you know any sites that talk about assembly line/manufacturing, etc. etc. types of programming I'd immortalize you in my coolbook forever I'm supposed to relate programming to society somehow, and that seems the most logical opportunity to kill away those 10 minutes or so during my speech

www.hackers.com they have a forum where alot of people talk about hacking and programming. You can get lingo from them. Sorry it is just one link, I forgot! I will get more info.
