A commendable OP. I never knew about some of those blank maps.

That is a good Europe blank too, was supposed to post it in the last thread, but I forgot about it.

I like the upside down map a lot.

Who puts the international date line in the middle of the map?

I'm fairly sure the map is Australian (I've seen a poster version in a classroom before), so I assume they are placing Australia in the centre. This really isn't any different to Americans placing the Americas in the centre, although not as justifiable as the British putting Britain in the centre.

More justifiable than the American one, I'd say- both the British and Australian method divide it relatively neatly through an ocean, but the American method slices Eurasia in half, which is just barbaric. :p

quite interesting euro maps. They clearly show French Netherlands should be part of Belgium.

What I find surprising is that Paris is only visible when it comes to spanish euros, and only slightly. I'd expect many tourists to come to it and leave their foreign euros there.
But they may, of course, use card etc.

No North America?

I am disappoint :(

Actually, Aussie way makes more sense, as you can see the Pacific Islands clearly. (in contrast, there are no island chains in the middle of the Atlantic, and the Macronesian Island chain fits in)

I'm lead to believe that most tourists in Paris are British, American and Japanese, so they presumably get all their money through exchange, which would mean that they simply get the natural local average.

Plus, it accurately depicts Britain as sitting on the cold, wet fringes of the civilised world. ;)

I suspect that cross border day trips would have far more an an effect in this. You also add in the French recieving their change in the nearby foreign country. And while they may not have as much money change hands there is probably more people and more use of cash.

Yet still not a part of the barbaric continent.

Proposed Dene-Caucasian languages superfamily.
