Alternate Victory Conditions

    This may have been posted about in the past, but my forum search skills are not great. Does anyone set alternative victory conditions for themselves? I recently played to see if I could get 1,000,000 gold before the AI beat me in any other victory condition, did it successfully in 1289 turns on marathon. Ended up not being as hard as I thought, so thought maybe it had been done before.

    All the time.
    Currently playing take all capitals without getting more than 150 grievances. I might drop to 100.
    I really enjoyed getting 10 cities to pop 30.
    10 cities to 100 prod, 100 envoys
    Win a CV just with 1 type of culture (struggling with gold courses on that one but resorts are fun. I have played that a lot.)
    I do play TCC a bit (three city challenge) as it makes me smile when people say tall is dead. It makes a change from rushing settlers everywhere and is more guaranteed than OCC.
    Done loads of silly ones like a battleship in every lake and have 6 spec ops with 6 generals on them and a scout take a city by themselves (I called it general operations) breach every dam on the board at T200.
    One I have tried a couple of times for frustrating fun is Never take a barb camp.

    Achieving what Victory Condition would be in your opinion possible for a three city challenge? Because usually the more cities you have, the more districts you have and the more GPP you generate - which is in my opinion important for all Victories.

    All of them bar Dom.
    You can win a one city challenge on deity, it is quite doable

    I come up with some challenges for myself, but rarely treat them as "victory" conditions and usually end up using them as something to do while working on a standard victory.

    • Having a t3 Holy building from each religion in my empire. (best is 4/5)
    • Having a city beside every NW (best is 4/5)
    • As England, having a city on every continent. (easy)
    • As Mali, having continuous golden ages from Classical era on (did it on my first try, haven't even come close since)
    • As Mongols, play against Macedon, Scythia, India, Arabia, Russia, Poland, Mali and Hungary, then capture the unique cavalry units from each civ. NB Hungary has 2. I expect I will have to give away lots of horses. First tried this with a different list in R+F, only got 3.

    I think it would be very good for a game. In classic board games (which Cilizlization actually is, but in digital form) it helps to make euro games less repetitive.
    Some kind of customizable victory conditions would be a great feature. Besides main victory condition, you had to choose 3 additional victory conditions
    One major victory condition connected to your victory type (science, religion, dominance) with a higher difficulty level to choose from a group of for example 5
    Two minor victory conditions with lower difficulty level just to spice up a game. One common (build x districts of a kind, harvest x number of stones), and one unique for civilization with historic reference (Jasna Góra as Poland, for example, would be: build Holy site in a hill title and place a Bombard unit there. Each to choose from a large number of common and unique minor victory conditions.
