Like if I play in single player on an earth map with 18 civs when they're all revealed and like into the industrial era the turns start going really slow. I press end turn and then it takes like 10 seconds to go to the next turn. Is everyone like that or just me?

If there are players who think lategame AI calculations shoudn't even be allowed to take half a second per player, no wonder most developers refuse to spend time and money on a sophisticated AI that could actually challenge a human player on equal grounds.
