I keep hearing everyone complaining about CTDs and how the devs didn't x or y or z....

I have a 3 year old laptop with a Turion dual core, 3g RAM and an older Nvidia card...

I run in DX9.... minimum settings... but I don't ever use strategic view.... combat animations on...

In normal games I have never crashed....

In my OCC I crashed a bunch late game but I know why....

Since I was "Next Turn" clicking on the vast majority of turns, that means my processor was getting no "downtime".... and I'm sure it wasn't happy :p

So I let the system rest with the "Next Turn" button gently coaxing me... seducing me to touch it... to caress it....

But if I resisited temptation.... I could delay the crashes....

So my problem isn't ciV... it's my system....

But as I said... even my crappy setup has NO problems with a normal game...

I usually stay at Standard/Standard settings... though I did finish 2 Epic games (standard size)...

So am I the only one lucky enough to play successfully without regular CTDs??

My system is not that high end, and I have no problems except on huge maps (I can play huge but the end game turns are slow).

It's the large & huge maps during end game people have problems with. I think the majority of people are fine with standard settings.

I had major issues pre-patch. Now it runs okay - laptop, Vista, ATI 3100... so the lowest of the low!

I am actually somewhat below minimum requirements :)
I have a 3.4Ghz processor, its not dual core (it said you must have a dual core processor)
Apart from the turns taking a long time, I have no crashes... weird, huh?
There was one pre-patch crash, where the game crashed if I took a helicopter on one certain hill, which was weird..

Theoretically, people who experience crashes are in the minority. They only seem in the majority because people who don't experience crashes have nothing to complain about.

I had it crash once. It was time to go to bed anyways.
