AMD-ATI .. A Done Deal

Hmm... I wonder what this means for NVidia

Does it mean AMD will start supporting and making ATI cards better, or will ATI's crappiness drag AMD down.

Very interesting.

Does ATI make motherboard chipsets ?

If it does, does that mean the eventual end to nForce chipsets for AMD chips ?

I'm hoping that this purchase does not destroy NVIDIA. Competition is good for us as consumers, and as gamers.

I doubt nVidia is going anywhere, if anything nVidia and Intel might stike a deal to counter the AMD-ATI merger. Which would mean trouble for the new company, as AMD has lost the performance crown (to Intel Conroe processors) and ATI hasn't had it for awhile in terms of GPU's.

Intel won't be getting with nVidia anytime soon, they have their own booming chipset business, were even planning to come out with their own chipsets that supported both SLI and Crossfire (dunno how that's going though).

Besides, nForce chipsets have been almost exclusively for AMD CPUs.
