Yes I lost a cav attacking something too, sorry.
No news, believe it or not!
2x units (militia I believe) killed near Bowling Green
1x militia finished off near Winchester
No Confederate losses
Two CSA units killed in the mountains near Winchester.
4x Union units killed near Winchester
Two rebel militia units routed in the hills NE of Bowling Green, which was captured and occupied.
St. Paul captured as Nashville braces for a fight...
Not much of a fight.
2x union soldiers killed in the hills near Winchester
Large battle south of Nashville. About a dozen rebel units killed for the loss of one Union general and two infantry regiments.
Very large battles continue near Nashville. The Union stack southeast of the city is wiped and the city is recaptured. The Union army is encircled as several Rebel Armies flying chicken banners converge from multiple directions. The Rebels take many casualties retaking the city (I think 3-4 infantry regiments) There is also minor fighting in Northern Virginia where 2-3 Union regiments are killed for the loss of one Confederate.
General Grant orders an advance to the rear! Breaking out of the "encirclement", Nashville is retaken and the victorious Union army advances against the Rebel forces north of the city and defeats them in detail - about a dozen regiments in all are destroyed. Fresh reinforcements pour across the Ohio River. A number of chicken banners are captured. Enterprising locals open the first KFC franchise.
I think 2 Union soldiers killed near Nashville with a further 4 including a cannon destroyed in northern Virginia. No Confederate losses.
Alexandria and Harpers Ferry raided with numerous Union casualties, but we lose a few infantry as well in the assault.
Two Confederate infantry and a general killed at Harper's Ferry, a militia unit destroyed in the hills near Winchester, two more south of Alexandria, one Union warship sunk.
Rather than continuing this game, I'm going to update it to incorporate the features of the ToT Patch Project, including Lua based events. John Petroski and Knighttime have agreed to collaborate on the project. One improvement is the extra unit slots, allowing more state's militia units and others to be added. Suggestions are welcome. I'm looking for the complete Civil War collection of Fairline. Can anyone help with that? Thanks.
I think you've probably already found it, but civ2units made a big collection of additional state militia and troops.
Speaking from personal experience, you are in good hands with both John and Knighttime. I'm still no expert, but having worked very closely with Knighttime on Napoleon, he taught me a lot about lua.
Will the project still be designed for multi-player or will it be possible to play in single mode as well?
As Gapetit and Fairline wrote, I´ve made additional units for the Civil War era. I used Fairlines units as a template for drawing them.
Attached are Volunteer/Militia units for Union and Confederacy:
The design of the uniforms are from different uniform plates I found on the internet. The uniforms of the Confederate Volunteers are mostly from the Osprey uniform plates.
Attached are the link to my complete compilation of 19th century American, Mexican and British Canadian units:
Please let me know if you are looking for a specific Volunteer/Militia unit. Maybe I can create one.
