I'm quite certain Obama's administration cannot keep this in action, especially with so many potential whistle blowers on his own cabinet. Remember the key difference between Obama and Bush. Bush purged the intelligence and justice departments of dissenting voices and filled his cabinet of disillusioned out of touch conservatives. Bush won both elections with overwhelming voter fraud (please watch the documentary hacking democracy to see cases where Al Gore received negative votes in a county in 2000 and a similar incident in Cleavland in 2004 where the discrepancy between polls taken right before election day and the actual election day results differed by like 20%).
Say what you will about ACORN, Obama ran a very clean election and was funded by small donations from people all over the world. I was an intern on the campaign and I can testify first hand that I witnessed a very professional, legal, and fair operation. The campaign was truly a grassroot movement, at the campaign center I interned at, we literally had people dropping by every few minutes asking to help out. And Obama has a Lincoln-like cabinet that will challenge him every step of the way. It is a lot harder to get away with illegal crap when you have people around you constantly on the look out.
Good point. Let's see how much change the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution probably accomplished through the course of American history since its inception:
Truman? Couldn't win his second term. Deserved to be in prison for needlessly dropping the bombs anyway.
Eisenhower? 8 years were more than enough for him.
Kennedy? Assassinated. Who knows?
LBJ? Didn't run for a second term. Wouldn't have won if he had.
RM Nixon? Barely missed being the first president to serve a jail term. Nope.
Jimmy Carter? Nope.
Ronald Reagan? <shudder>
GWB The Elder? Couldn't win his second term.
Clinton? Hmmm. May have prevented the worst leader the free world has ever known from assuming office...
GWB The Younger? Scary to even think about it. I personally think he would have done better than "the Maverick" running on exactly the same platform.
