This game is a spiritual successor to Pacific War - Empires Clash.

The Third Great War began twelve years ago and raged for eight years. Now the year is 2024 and things seem quiet - the Protectorate Federation, eventual winner of the war and One World Government of Terra, relaxes, finally thinking that it is safe.

Then the United States Military District explodes as the American Uprising is unleashed from thin air. Simultaneous rebellions occur in the former Mongol and Japanese Empires, leaving the Federation with no reserves and an immense uprising to pacify. As communications are jammed between the afflicted regions and Europe, panic spreads and the Federation's forces begin to break.

That was over the last five hours.

Now it's almost noon - and Washington DC is torn by endless gunfire and constant artillery. Fire illuminates the city, great pillars of smoke clawing for the heavens. The White House is a flaming ruin - a company of Federation soldiers made a stand there, barely being evacuated before American artillery obliterated the location. The Pentagon still stands, and the Americans are barreling to take it with insane fervor.

Total war has refound the United States. The Federation's troops are a new generation - expecting occupation duty, not a war! Enough pressure, and they will break.

Are you going to provide that pressure, or are you going to try and rally them?

This game is played in a chatroom - it will be made for the full game. It is a real-time-tactical forum game. You are all in the persona of officers in your respective army - either Free American or Protectorate Federation - commanding small groups of men into action while simultaneously fighting as hard as you can yourself. The entire fate of the Uprising may well rest on your shoulders.

I won't describe much of the rules in this thread - here you sign up. Add your character's name, your faction(of the two presented) and then your starting equipment from the lists below. Maybe give us a few details about you character - where is he/she from? Why did he/she enter the United Protectorate Army or Free America? What does he/she look like? What other assignments did he/she have/not have before DC and the Uprising?

Then list your stats from the following:

Physical: Strength and fitness. Affects your resilience and proficiency in hand-to-hand combat.
Mental: Concentration and intelligence. Affects your accuracy and gives you bonuses to trying to figure out enemy plans.
Charisma: Speech skills and leadership. Increases your character's CP and makes fire support more accurate.

You start with 5 points in each stat and you have 12 points to customize. Do not count on getting many more points or getting them on a regular basis.

There are two types of currency in this game - Gear Points(GP) and Command Points(CP). Gear Points are used to buy weapons and ammunition for yourself and Command Points control how many units are under your character's command. GP are earned in combat and CP is a stable total that regenerates after you detach old units. It goes up with promotions. Note: CP is a stable total. You "attach" units or fire support assets to your character, but when they're detached the CP cost is refunded to you. Increase CP by increasing CHA and getting promotions.

You can only spend Gear Points ATM. Everyone starts with 200.

"It is time the America rises from the ashes and overthrow the Federation government that has, for so long, oppressed us. We will go house-by-house and purge our nation on foreign influence with bayonet! Death to Traitors!"

No one knows where August came from or even if that's his real name. Since he popped up though, he has gone by many names. The Walkin' Dude, the Man in Black, the Ageless Stranger, the Dark Man, the Good Man, John Farson, Roland, the Gunslinger. The list goes on. Many say it's because he was hiding from Federation spies but in retrospect, the explanation doesn't make sense. As soon as the fighting started, his bayonet had already claimed the lives of two Federation soldiers.

M16 Assault Rifle
4 clips of M16 ammor
Combat Knife
M24 Sniper Rifle

Nantz is in his late twenties, and he fought as a staff sergeant in the third great war, earning a Purple Heart, Gold life saving medal, Soldier's medal, a Silver Star, and an Army Distinguished Service Cross, coming up just short of the Medal of Honor. A grizzled veteran, he doesnt talk much off the battlefield except when pissed off, but when he gets onto the battlefield, as soon as he finds the enemy frequency, his tongue is let loose on the enemy commander. Even Jason Wayne got scorched by the words of this man.

Having seen his Brother, Father, Sister, and son all die within the last few hours of the Assault on new York in the closing stages of the great war, he is out for revenge, joining forces with these "Free Americans" who dare to take on the Federation. In particular, Colonel Haulsee, is the target of his greif and rage, which has built up inside of him, waiting for the chance to lash out.

Pic will be edited in sometime tomorrow.

Alright, signups are closed. Now being nearly asleep last night there's something I forgot to put in the update - character stats. There are three:

Physical: Strength and fitness. Affects your resilience and proficiency in hand-to-hand combat.
Mental: Concentration and intelligence. Affects your accuracy and gives you bonuses to trying to figure out enemy plans.
Charisma: Speech skills and leadership. Increases your character's CP and makes fire support more accurate.

You start with 5 points in each stat and you have 12 points to customize. Do not count on getting many more points or getting them on a regular basis.

Note: CP is a stable total. You "attach" units or fire support assets to your character, but when they're detached the CP cost is refunded to you. Increase CP by increasing CHA and getting promotions.

LH are you sure 4 each side is enough in the long run? I could understand 4 each side in each battle or something, but I think it would get more interesting if more than 8 people were playing.

4 per side seems good to me. Remember you're all officers and there's a crapton of NPCs running around. I can easily reopen signups if I need more players. Plus imagine since there's two sides if the players from both sides are fighting each other.

I'll open the social groups and chatrooms for each side shortly.

I guess that makes sense.

Will the inventories open up as we progress and everything? In other words, will we be able to purchase vehicles, air support, and all the rest of that jazz in order to support units under our command (i.e. commandos and paratroopers and the light tank in Pacwar)? Will there be any mines, or other extra infantry equipment?

Unlike AA here, I was one of the ones that loved the amount of equipment in pacwar, and even thought more could be added.

There will be more equipment as time goes on - but everything that you don't use yourself must be purchased with CP. Tanks and other vehicles are CP purchases.

But yeah. Mines, flamethrowers, railguns, bazookas, SMGs, shotguns, swords and more will become available with time.

There is such a thing as too much information, you know.

Now, if he had supplied me with an Excel document with all the supplies, I'd have been all over that game.

What game universe is this set in?
