In the game, not in real life.

But seriously, they don't get their UU until Industrialism and they don't get their UB until Refrigeration. Lame. What are they supposed to do until then?

Build the other things? UU and UB's aren't the only way to play.

Well, DUH. But they still suck.

Because they are at a disadvantage for 80-90% of the game, maybe?

They still have archers, spearmen, axes, everything the same as everyone else minus the UU.

They are only as bad as the strategy used with them.

You're forgetting Leader Bonuses. America has some of the best leaders in the game, especially Roosevelt, whom pretty much allows you to expand whenever you want, not when its convenient.

It's "who", not "whom", and you can combine any leader with any civilization as long as you have Warlords or BtS.

1: just in BTS

2: What does that have to do with it?

Here comes the grammar nazi.

And, the leader, while being able to be swapped, is just as important to the civ as the UU or UB. Besides, if you're going to do the switch crap, then honestly, there isn't a sucky "civ", just sucky combinations.

Better than Germany - latest UU in the game, and also very late UB.

Seriously though, lack of a UU or UB is not a big deal. And as someone else pointed out, the American leaders all have strong traits.

Okay then. Name one leader who works better with the Americans than with any other civ.

^ How is that even relevant?

Poor reasoning skills have led me to not believe your argument to be valid. Poor word choice in the title didn't help. Prior knowledge of the quality of your posts has also supported my claim.

If one wishes to type in small posts, he should infuse his limited words with knowledge, not empty statements. Take a cue from Dave.
