    Governors and other Knowledgable persons:

I am new here, so I have lots of unanswered questions. I am sure there are other citizens who have questions as well.

How do I attach screen captures (namely of Alexandria) to a post. Screen captures are bigger than the allowed 102000 byte limit. I see that most posters refer the the 'www.civfanatics.net/uploadX/' path, but I don't know how to put my picture there.

    Any help out there?

hopefully, This thread IS for discussion and all the unasked questions will be answered here.

TerminalMan 90 - Mayor of Alexandria

For example, I uploaded a picture of a doughnut (filename: doughnut.gif) for other uses. I would get it to show up by typing, with no spaces...

    That yields:

Thank you gentle Sirs, for you quick response. It amazes me that you have time to answer my queries AND run the whole country. I remain your loyal servant and devoted citizen,

    TerminalMan90, Mayor of Alexandria.

    P.S.

I'll do my part to keep the stupid questions :crazyeye: coming, so look here for my (and I hope other) new citizen questions.

    How about this one...:

How come some polls are registered in the sticky thread but others aren't? I have subscribed to the poll registry so that it will warn me when there is a new poll, but the poll originators haven't been adding them to that thread.

    Or this small item:

I don't currently use IRC for chatting but I might be tempted to try it out if I could visit a turn chat. Are these for Governers and elected officials only? Are there other organized chats that would be interesting?

    1. It depends on how lazy the person posting the poll is to put it in the registry thread. ;)
    2. Anybody can attend a turnchat, and new citizens are highly encouraged to do so; it gives you a better idea of how the DG works. Also, there usually aren't other interesting DG-related organized chats...sometimes we hold live election debates in #debates and ravensfire held a DG discussion last term but those are pretty rare.

What happens between demogames. Just a lot of boring discussions about the rules and the constitution?

Yes, those "boring" subjects come up, as well as when to start the next one, what civ to be, how the map will be, etc.

There really hasn't been much *between time*. We've always tried getting alot of the boring details out of the way before one game ends and the next starts. Of course things never really get exciting until I get elected President. :D

Here is one that has been in the back of my mind for some time now...

If I edit a post, does it show up as unread for other people? If not, then I should post a new post pointing to the old post so that people notice my changes.

I THINK that is the way it works, but I haven't been able to confirm it.

When you edit a post, it does not show up as unread to somebody who had read the message before you edited it.
