does anyone else find it annoying when a city grows and then starves because it's got 1 food surplus, then has 1 food deficit after growing? course it gets even more annoying when you build the Longevity wonder and it causes 2 pop growth when your city only can support 1 more citizen.

in situations where giving up a tile to a city with overlapping city radius doesn't work, i've taken to pillaging 1 tile to knock down food production by 1 so the city stays at zero growth. what solutions have you come up with?

Sorry. I do not find that annoying. If it does for you, maybe change one of your irrigations to a mine? Maybe plant a forest over a grasslands?

or you could move the Longevity Wonder to appear earlier....such as with Medicine, Sanitation, Scientific Method or Atomic Theory for instance.

As it stands, as a Wonder it's useless appearing so late in the tech tree.

I fail to see the point of longevity so late in the game as all your cities are "saturated" with people and that one extra food irritates a perfectionists (only while playing civ3;) ) like me:mad:

I've never even had the chance to build it yet because the most comman ways for me to win, always happen before I complete the tech tree...

it's 1660AD, emperor level and we are building the longevity wonder. this is hardly late in the game....

u get a big score boost from population growth to maximise score if u are into that kind of thing.

longevity is useless by the time i can ever build it. By then (regardless of game year) my cities have usually hit their maximum sustained size so there's very little growth going on. Probably should be renamed as Polio Vaccine or something similar and moved up to medicine.
