Yeah, that about sums up rationale for helping the Arab Spring blossom.

(note: not that they were a cause by any means, or the lynchpin, but they did step up to do what they could.)

 no idea what you're talking about, unless it's the riots that spread. Never heard them called the Arab Spring though, if that's what you're talking about.

No one from anonymous claimed they were hacking Sony anyway, they made some attacks as well but I don't think they were related.

Would be nice if they did nab that other group who keeps hacking Sony websites and uploading everyone's user info to TPB, those guys dicks.

    Also fail thread title

Don't get that they're criminals who are no better than someone who kicks in a door and steals your money from your home? They're 'breaking and entering' online and should be rooted out, arrested, and sent to hard labor.

    And get off my lawn!

Some of them are criminals, yeah. But that's not what's talked about.

What I am afraid of is that this is going to go down like in the good old days, where the people caught will be made to fit the crime. Precisely to assuage the the old people who do not understand Anon.

If they were responsible for hacking the sony network or provided active support for doing so, they deserve to be thrown in jail. Cybercrime should not be treated any differently have other crime.

Chances are if anon was responsible, it would have claimed it.

Well, unlike many others, I hope the guys who hacked Sony get away with it, and do it again. And again. And again. And again.

Sony deserves to croak and bankrupt for being such huge hypocrital a-hole.
And people who see no problem with companies making tighter and tighter DRM and systems that end up being based on real-life informations which are used unchecked, just don't get any sympathy from me when they get to realize why it is a bad thing when such events happen.

The fact that anonymous hasn't claimed responsibility is telling.

DDoS attacks on the Tunisian and Egyptian government websites? Yeah, big wow. That's about as much "helping the Arab Spring blossom" as me standing outside the Syrian embassy in London with my "stop doing bad things now" poster (or whatever it said).

What, that all old people and all media "just don't get" anonymous? Please, that's laughably facetious.

Well apparently so, because they keep displaying this belief that Anonymous has a "leadership" or a "Hierarchy".
