This time, its Balbes!

When he won a conquest victory in GOTM 21, Balbes completed a fastest-finish win in every category of the Civ4 GOTM, and joined Lexad, A'AbarachAmadan and Grey Cardinal as the winners of this special award.

But what is truly remarkable about his particular achievement is that he won the award by submitting 'fastest finish' victories in all six categories, in only 6 submitted games! How's that for impressive?

Well done, Balbes! :D

Congrats! I've forecasted this to come soon ;) :goodjob:

Congratulations, Balbes! you also deserve an award for excellent graphic turnset descriptions!

I suggest you go out and drink a liter of vodka with your friends to celebrate and tomorrow, first thing in the morning, play your next SG5 turnset. ;)

Way to go Balbes, your knowledge and skill of this game is very impressive. :goodjob:

Thanks for your informative posting as well, and for squeezing every last drop out of your victories to give us plenty to learn from!

Everything I know about Civ4 I've learned from the excellent SGOTM players of CFR, especially from Obormot. If there is somebody who should be awarded the eptathlon, it's him.

Congrats! I hope, you are full of inspiration to bring your team to victory in SGOTM5 )))
Gosha, remind me not to give you the steering wheel next time, would you? :D

All of us will play as strong as possible. Unfortunately, current SGOTM is a significantly random depended game and teams with similar skills will achieve different results. So, good luck to all teams!

Interesting. My thoughts were that the game was so well set up that it 1) minimized randomness and maximized strategy, and 2) created a potential for a wide variety of strategies, all arguably equal, depending on how well you exectued them.

Of course, one could argue that's unfair, since certain people are so good at strategy..., right Balbes? ;)
