Tried asking my girlfriend of two years, not for her though. She never plays video games and doesn't appreciate History like I do. Hotseat was the best in Civ IV, me and my friends would play for hours on end, til' the sun came up! Great times!
Well I convinced most of my friends to play it since I wouldn't shut up about it, so they thought it had to be good that I talked so much about it. I even got one of my history teachers to start playing it. My brother on the other hand is unbreakable, he says he doesn't have the patience to sit and play it- he needs action (Only Shooter games)
yes, i am trying to get my brother to play it when he comes around for holidays this year.
Last time he played civilization, he set his tech tree to "atomic theory" at turn 2, then spent the rest of the game running himself broke with military units. He went so broke (and his people started starving) he had to disband most of his military units, and he was crushed by invading armies (of the people he kept demanding money from) before 1000 B.C.
I can get my GF to play hotseat with me by conceding to watch those godawful chick flicks and british literature movies she loves during. We set up the laptop in front of the tv and pop on some tear-jerker romance. The only condition is that she actually has to take her turns. I just glue myself to the computer and couldn't care less about the movie.
BBC's Pride and Prejudice is a 4 and a half hours crap-a-rama, but that got me a whole evening of civ with her.
Uh, I remember having to read Pride and Prejudice in English. Then we watched that series.
It's probably the most boring book/series I've ever read/watched. Near the end they even had a set up for a good duel, but then they stopped it. It's like they were trying to tease me.
Well, my boyfriend just informed me that he's taking the day off work on Friday... so I think I have succeeded in winning him over to the dark side *evil laugh*
