I'm trying to create some Munits (obviously) but run into problems when I try to replace the .pcx image with a .bmp image. Though my image program says the two files are exactly the same size, I come out with one or two frames slightly off center, so when the animation runs, the unit will always jump one or two pixels to either side, then jump back. It creates a really distracting, and unpolished effect esp when the multi-unit is of several large capital ships.
Currently, my strategy is to just rename the bmp file that SBB generates to a pcx file, then copy the entire file, and post it directly into the pcx file that flicster generates, then save, and run the program. But I always see this little jump, in every unit I make.
Does it have something to do with the frame outline? Is it my software? (I'm using MGI Photosuite, which is old, but I'm familiar and comfortable with it) I really don't want to try to learn a new image program, as I think it's a 'pain in the butt.' I can post my files if it would be helpful! Thanks in advance.
