Here is the scoope. I am playing prince game marathon speed standard size and I am the romans. At the moment I am in the lead score wise, doubling my nearest opponent. I took out 4 my competators early the french the russians the arabs and the incans. I have nearly half the map under my control and am way ahead in tech culture and cash. I am able to run my science at 100% and still turn a profit. I am on great terms with the american, and english and decent terms with the egyptians. However the germans hate me and frankly I would like to rid the world of them but I don't want to start the war and have more minuses against me cause I am going for victory with either the space race or diplomatic. I know I can wrap the space race up first with out a problem but diplomatic I am not to sure about. I could probably do a domination victory as well but I dunno wars take too long. Ya think if I use my spys to really piss the germans off I could get them to attack me. I might be too strong I don't know, but since I have tanks and they don't I would like to get it done before the arrival of thier panzers. any tips on how to get them to attack me?

I did this with Catherine once.

Take your spies and begin removing food resources in the fat cross of the two main cities. When they've lost about 40% of their population and have caught a few of your spies they will attack you. It will take a while.

Since you are that far ahead, you could also switch your Civics to something other than the Germans have (with the exception of Emancipation, which is just not worth it.) Of special importance to German leaders is the Rep/US in the first column depending on which one you are facing. This is actually fortunate, since in either case, you can take the other without it impacting too negatively on your Civ.

On top of the spy-spamming, you can also "make arrogant demands". You can work up quite a negative on that alone. It doesn't always work, but most of the AIs will fall for it.

Can't you get your 'friends' to attack Germany?

Then you join the war when you feel like it...

I doubt you will be able to get them to attack you if you are that much larger and have a tech lead on them. I have tried before to do that with a number of Civs, and have never been successful. Maybe if you disband most of your units they will and then you can rebuild them after the war starts.

Another way to tick off the Germans would be to initiate trade embargoes against them. Just go around to all of your allies and get them to stop trading with the Germans. If those allies also dislike the Germans, they'll join your embargo with little added persuasion. The trade embargo has two benefits: 1) annoying the Germans, and 2) screwing the Germans out of lucrative trades.

Off-topic, but I did a Space Race victory on Marathon speed once. Never again. Even with powerful core cities building the SS parts, there was still way too much "End Turn, End Turn, End Turn..." for my taste. I can't believe that you think a Domination victory would be too boring, but you're planning to go for space on Marathon. Oh, well. To each his own, I suppose....

Go for the Diplomatic win; you'll lose less sleep that way! ;)
