Civman110, take discussions as a competitive thing, a battlegroudd of wits, a place to train yourse smarts and get better. Noone is as good in this when they are young then when they have had the time and opportunity to learn to be ebtter at it as they get older. Personally i love good competition, i'm quite into fairplay too in this.

There are plenty of conservative's that could come here and give us a real hard time in discussions. Surely you must know someone who can bring the same point you are concerned about better than you? Why wouldn't you want to be better?

I love eloquence Ciman101. i would give credit to any opponent who could bring any disagreeable position with a great deal of eloquence. I would hate that he give me so few room to disagree and is also even enoyable in style as i disagree, funny and ammusing even perhaps. Those are the impressive types of the scene, regardless of their idelogical disposition, those smooth talkers you hate for being so good.

Compared to that, shouting out youre unilatteral against all oppostion is practicly the opposite, a clear sign of atleast lack eloquence in debate. if i can give a tip that might help, if you ever go to another forum and want to get youre right as to avoid frustration, you more likely would get recognition as you brought it with more eloquence.

At the very least youthfullness can do that. In the old days i thought Thunderfall to be a very patient kind of admin with those and i took some lessons from him, there were a number of users who were a handfull then who eventually still contributed well enough to this site.

Civman101 still has the chance with me, my respect for him will grow as he learns to admit mistake's (which i consider a matter of intelectual strenght) and sharpens his skill. i might not ever agree with him, but i might come to respect him for his abbilety in making it hard for me.
I think he has enough cappacity to learn, but also that he really is smart enough to understand his errors, so that he eventually will learn someday to be better at the art of discussion itself. i really don't want to ask how old he is though, could come across as patronising just on that.

I'm interrested in information, the more usefull the better. I dislike incorrect information.
I don't mind being challenged in my convictions or enlightened, it's the path to more knowledge, even if i'm only as limited as many others in persuing that path myself. i don't think anyone is a moral authority per se, i think education is something that can be disconnected from morallity to a certain extend. 2+2 is 4, not 5. The crux of my scrutiny to you was when it really came down to quantifyable numbers, it was about measurements rather than choice or morallity. Math is universal, even aliens must abide by it's authority, its has nothing to do anymore with ideological disposition.
